Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee
(SOCHUM)
The Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM), was founded in 1945, as the Third General Assembly of the United Nations. As a committee, SOCHUM is dedicated to advancing the cause of human rights and improving the quality of life for people around the world. From addressing issues of poverty, inequality, and social justice to promoting access to healthcare, education, and basic human needs, we will be exploring some of the most pressing challenges of our time. Whether you are an experienced Model UN participant or a first-time delegate, we encourage you to bring your unique perspectives, experiences, and ideas to the table.
This committee is open to delegates of all skills, welcoming 60 delegates to participate in fruitful debate. Position Papers are not mandatory for this committee, but highly recommended. Position papers are required to be eligible for awards.
